Time will be tracked and recorded automatically by Protime using a computerized chip system.

UCI Gran Fondo World Championship Qualifiers Age Groups (Gran Fondo & Medio Fondo):

• WOMEN 19-49 GRAN FONDO
• WOMEN 50+ MEDIO FONDO
• MEN 19-59 GRAN FONDO
• MEN 60+ MEDIO FONDO

Age Categories for UCI Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo World Championships:

19-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, etc.

Age Groups Applicable to the UCI Gran Fondo World Series are defined by the rider’s age on December 31st of the year of the qualifier event. Age groups applicable to the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are defined by the rider’s age on December 31st of the year of the World Championships.

• All competitors over the age of 16 can apply with parental authorization.
• Competitors over the age of 19 compete for the UCI World Series World Cup 2024.
• All professional competitors can apply, but are not competing for the UCI World Series World Cup 2024.

START OF THE GRAN FONDO AND MEDIO FONDO RACE

The race will start with the flag, which marks the beginning of timing for all participants. Timing ends when the finish line is crossed. The participant who crosses the finish line first will be the winner in their age category.

Note:

You will be able to collect your starter package with a number by presenting a valid identification document.

New competitor registration will be possible on both June 15 and 16, but only the race number will be provided, not the starter packages.

PRIZES

Gift packs and sponsor prizes might be awarded. The first 25% in each age group qualify for the World Championships. Every rider who finishes in the first 25% of their age group in the UGFWS qualifier events will be given a medal. The organizer will set up a desk where participants can collect their medals. All winners of their age group will receive an official UGFWS jersey on the podium during the award ceremony.

GENERAL RACE RULES AND REGULATIONS

The road rules of the UCI and the Serbian Cycling Federation, as well as the general rules of the UCI, apply to this event. By starting the race, riders acknowledge that they are familiar with these rules and participate at their own risk. The event organizer will not be held responsible for any third-party damage incurred by the riders. The event will be held regardless of weather conditions. The event organizer reserves the right to change the race conditions without prior notice.

RACE SAFEТY

The track will be clearly marked with a system of arrows, boards, and flags. The race will take place on a road open to traffic. Participants must comply with all applicable regulations at all times. For fairness and to prevent potential issues, participants will be immediately disqualified if caught using third-party motorized assistance outside the organization.

Safety First! We kindly ask all participants to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and pay attention to traffic signs and instructions during the race. Your safety is our priority!

EQUIPMENT

Cyclists can choose the bike of their choice (road bike, mountain bike, city bike, hybrid bike) except for time trial bikes, electric bikes, tandem bikes, manual bikes, or recumbent bikes. Wearing a helmet is mandatory throughout the entire race. Participants are free to wear the jersey of their choice in qualifying events.

COMPLAINTS

According to the rules, complaints can be filed in writing with a deposit of 3,600 RSD. Complaints about race developments can be filed within 15 minutes after the race has finished. Complaints about rankings can be filed within 15 minutes from the moment they have been published.

ВУ REGISTERING FOR THE RACE, ЕАСН PARTICIPANT EXPRESSLY STATES THAТ:

1. Participation Confirmation: By signing this statement, I confirm that I am participating in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Serbia Novi Sad at my own risk and am aware of the risks involved. I understand that the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Serbia Novi Sad involves riding on open roads that are not fully closed to traffic and I commit to obeying all traffic regulations of the Republic of Serbia.
2. Health Condition: I declare that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series Serbia Novi Sad and that there are no medical conditions that could affect my safety or the safety of other participants.
3. Release from Liability: I expressly release the organizers, their partners, sponsors, and all associated entities from any liability for injuries, death, property damage, or any other harm I might suffer during the event.
4. Consent to Recording: I give irrevocable consent to the organizers to use my images, videos, name, voice, and other materials recorded during the event for promotional and commercial purposes without the right to compensation.
5. Changes and Cancellation of the Event: I understand that the organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the event without prior notice. In such a case, a refund of the entry fee or part of it may be made at the discretion of the organizers, but this is not guaranteed.

By adhering to these General Rules and Regulations, the participant agrees to comply with all rules of the Gran Fondo Novi Sad 2024 race.

During the Gran Fondo Novi Sad 2024 race, VABK will make video, audio, and photo recordings of the event. Some of these recordings will be used for promotional purposes. By adhering to these General Rules and Regulations, participants agree that such recordings may be used to promote Gran Fondo Novi Sad 2024 under the terms and conditions stated herein, and that they are not entitled to compensation. VABK will disregard any claims resulting from the use of photographs and video recordings for promotional purposes.

The event organizer reserves the right to change the timetable and routes with prior notice on the Gran Fondo Novi Sad website, Facebook page, and the bulletin board.

ADDITIONAL NOTES AND INFORMATION

a) The Medio Fondo and Gran Fondo race routes split at the top of the second climb, lriski venac (61.4 km). Warning notices will be placed at an appropriate distance from the point where the routes diverge.

b) Challenging points on the route include:

• Left turn on descent at 32 km from wide road to narrow road
• Dangerous left bend on descent at 33.5 km
• Water drain across the whole road at 34 km
• Dangerous S bend entering Vrdnik at 38.5 km

c) The roads will be partially closed by officials. All riders on the route will ride at their own risk and are kindly asked to follow traffic regulations.

By registering for the race, I acknowledge that my data are correct and that the event organizer may use them. I agree to receive promotional communications from the event organizer. I confirm that I am fit to participate in the race and will accept medical assistance in case of injury or health risk.
